Sandy Bates

Paws n’ Critters has been in business since 2009, serving the Greater Tucson area. All of our sitters come from various backgrounds, healthcare, corporate, insurance, business, caretakers and more. I am an Air Force Veteran, and have been a business owner for over 30 years. We all bring a passion for pets with us, that carries over in the care that you receive each and every time we take care of your pets.

Paws n’ Critters has over 600 active customers city-wide. We are still servicing some of our very first clients and have become very attached to all of our pets that we watch.

We believe in continuing education and certification and I have obtained my PetTech Instructor Certification in December of 2013, and have trained all staff for the certification of Pet CPR & First Aid. I have trained other pet professionals and customers for the same certification and they have found it an invaluable training program.

Paws n’ Critters is licensed, bonded and insured and accredited with the Better Business Bureau for your peace of mind.

All sitters have passed a background/criminal history check.

All sitters have completed their PetTech Certification in Pet CPR & First Aid.

Heidi

Hi! I’m Heidi, a native of Tucson AZ. While growing up, our family always had pets. Dogs, Cats, Bunnies, and Hamsters. As I matured and married (36yrs.) we decided to have a family. I have 3 wonderful children, and as they grew up I wanted them to have a love for animals. So we added pets to our family right from the beginning. I decided, as a young mother to start a daycare for children. I loved and nurtured these children for 12yrs. Our pets where part of their lives as well.

As the years went on I found myself drifting from children to the older generation and caring for them as well as their pets. I felt that pets are just like children. We nurture them, teach them, love them, and care for them in their golden years, unconditionally. I know I instilled the love of pets in my children. They have had Dogs, Cats, Horses, Goats, and an array of Birds. This brings a huge amount of joy to me as I now watch my grandchildren learn to give the gift of love to their animals.

It’s a Circle of Life for me which would have never felt complete without our 4-legged family member’s! I look forward to meeting Yours!
Heidi services Saddlebrooke and Catalina areas

Hannah F

Hi, I’m Hannah! I’m a 4th grade teacher who absolutely adores animals. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and getting the opportunity to work with them is greatly fulfilling, alongside my teaching job. I have been with Paws and Critters since 2017, and am loving every year here. During my free time, I enjoy hiking, yoga, skating, and spending valuable time with my loved ones.

Growing up, my family and I cared for many animals, from birds to bunnies, to snakes and hamsters, as well as our family dogs. Now, I have a cat at home named Spooky, and want to expand my animal family in the future.

My passion for animals grows everyday, and I get that opportunity to share that love through Paws n’ Critters!

Mort

I was born and raised in Philadelphia. Thirty five years ago I moved to Tucson after meeting my wife while touring radio stations KCEE/KWFM.

My background includes serving in the US NAVY as an air traffic controller for 4years. I am a Vietnam Vet. After serving in the Navy I worked at WFIL Radio in Philadelphia as a Broadcast Engineer for 18 years.

Growing up in Philadelphia my family always had a least 1 dog. I also owned a pair of cats that were brother and sister. I believe pets are a very important part of the family and can’t imagine not owning at least one.

Currently, my wife and I own two Boston Terriers who are very much a part of our family. I enjoy meeting different breeds of dogs and cats. Each one is unique in its own way.

I am happy to have the opportunity to meet you and to care for your pets while you are away from home. I look forward to meeting you soon.
Mort services the Northwest side of Tucson, including Dove Mountain and Continental Ranch

Sandra W & Hannah C, mother/daughter team

Sandra: I am ALMOST a native of Tucson. I have lived here in Tucson for 44 years, originally from California. I was a hairdresser for 10 years before starting a family. I dropped everything to be a stay at home mom and raise my three kids. Just recently, my youngest child graduated from high school and now with time on my hands and love in my heart, I look forward to caring for your furry family members as if they were mine.

Hannah currently works full time in the medical field, so by day she is caring for humans and by night caring to animals. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking and traveling.

Our family has two dogs and two cats that are SO SPOILED. My kids laugh at the fact that there are more pictures of the animals than them around the house. We look forward to giving double the love to your fur babies and we look forward to meeting you and them!
Sandra & Hannah services the Oro Valley areas.

Julie

Hi, I’m Julie, and I’ve lived in Tucson since 1966. I grew up in the countryside in Michigan, with all the dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, guinea pigs and turtles that my parents would allow.

Professionally, I worked in the area of finance and trust administration for over 40 years, developing strong relationships based on trust and confidentiality. And I’ve never had a trust client who didn’t have a pet! I currently live with two long-haired dachshunds, Shep and Squirt; a brother and sister duo that I call the Twins, and a big gray cat named La Rue.

During my lifetime (so far) I’ve lived with as many as seven dogs and a cat at one time, being partial to Great Danes, Weinie Dogs, and Russian Blues.

I look forward to loving your pets like my own until you return home!
Julie services the lower part of the Foothills, mid-town, U of A and downtown areas.

Bridget

Hi, I’m Bridget and I live on an acre and a half of desert on the northeast side of Tucson. My husband and I have raised a large family of 8 children (only one left at home) . We enjoyed the numerous pets we’ve had over the years - including rabbits, dogs, cats, mice, chickens and even ferrets. I feel pets are such a wonderful experience to teach children responsibility, and of course they have provided so many family memories. They filled our family life with warmth and often humor, and sometimes challenges. I love being active and outside, and enjoy keeping in shape with our Labrador/Australian Shepherd mix "Echo" by taking long walks around our neighborhood in the Tanque Verde Valley. Raising a large family has given me many different experiences involving reliability in daily tasks, as well as dealing with the unexpected! I’m looking forward to meeting new people and helping out with their beloved pets.
